Overview
In 2021, under environmental protection inspection and COVID-19, Chinese antimony market witnessed short supply and weak demand: upstream and downstream market participants in China experienced historical low operating rates throughout the year, plus the continuously shrinking supply of antimony raw materials, Chinese antimony prices returned to the peak level in the past ten years. Though COVID-19 kept spreading globally, the international antimony market saw various development and competition during the year. Countries especially in Mid, West, and Southeast Asia kept occupying global antimony raw material supply and downstream market with maturing smelting technologies and zero tariff.   • Tibet Huayu Mining Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as Huayu Mining) was established in October 2002 with a registered capital of RMB555 million (USD87.8 million), and then was listed at Shanghai Stock Exchange (SH.601020) on March 16, 2016.   • Huayu Mining has two mines, Zhaxikang lead-zinc polymetallic mine of 600,000tpy in Lhünzê county of Tibet and Lawu copper-zinc mine of 78,000tpy in Damxung county, in production, which could produce 40,000t of lead, zinc, antimony, 60t of sliver and 1,500t of copper annually. The other two mines, Kangqiaoqi gold-antimony mine with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons in Tajikistan and Nibao gold mine with an annual capacity of 660,000t in Pu'an county, Guizhou province, are under construction now. In addition, there are three mines in preparation, which are 300,000tpy Tigray gold mine in Ethiopia, 400,000tpy Keyue lead polymetallic mine in Lhünzê county, Lhoka city of Tibet and 400,000tpy Chagele copper-lead-zinc mine in Ngamring county, Rikaze city of Tibet. The main products include lead-antimony concentrate (sliver-contained), zinc concentrate, gold concentrate, gold-antimony concentrate and copper concentrate.
